Ever wanted to re-visit the 80's or the 90's? Hardly likely, considering most of us on here were just tots with a lot of embarrassing stories to come, or not even in existence, but Charli XCX creates music as if now were the 90's. She puts a modern twist on an old school sound. Her style, fashion and musical, are both very retro, something a lot rarer nowadays. 

Her collaboration with I G G Y went to no.1 in various countries which is not surprising as the chorus is so bloody catchy, (cue "I'm so fancy") and different to most other chart music, and she has featured on the soundtrack to none other than The Fault In Our Stars, with 'Boom Clap' - her first solo charting single.. Aside from her singing and recording abilities, she has also written for other artists, such as the famous Icona Pop song I Love It, proving her all-round talent when she won the SESAC Pop Songwriter of the Year Award. 

Charli has been compared to Marina Diamandis (Marina and the diamonds) and the two unsurprisingly toured together, and created a duet, entitled Just Desserts. Another comparison, is Lorde, although I really don't see it, I think it's just the hair. 

So at 21 years old, I'd say she's doing alright so far.
