So last week I was feeling pretty rubbish. I'd caught that dreadful cold that was going around and I was stuck in bed for 5 days straight. I needed to do something to cheer myself up a bit, didn't I? So I decided to go out and treat myself. I headed over to the Chanel counter and there sitting alongside its best friends was a lip gloss in the shade Tocade.
Usually I'm not much of a dark lip kind of person, but it almost pained me to nearly walk away without buying it, so I didn't walk away. I picked that baby up, took him home and he's now sitting comfortably with all my other lip products.
I was toying with the idea of getting a lighter colour but in the end I went with my heart, and I'm so glad I did. The colour is absolutely beautiful, a deep purple, and on the lips it looks so glossy and eye-catching. It glides on nicely, although sometimes it does seem to drag the product around if you apply more than one coat of it, which I wouldn't do because I like the look of just one coat with my skin tone. This is really worth the money, I think, because it lasts ALL day! It did not move even when I had something to eat, drink, and kissed my baby brother on the cheek!
I wore this colour with a baby blue jumper - not something I'd ever really think of doing, but the contrast between the two was beautiful and definitely something I can see myself wearing a lot.
